1530Queen
Tasaenae Swordwraith returns to the throne of Aerenwe; Lord Bellamie retains
the province of Dhoenel, despite there being no love
lost between the Queen and the servants of Ghoere/Osoerde.
1530The siege of Battlewait is broken, as the
Gorgon unleashes fell magic on the Anuireans, conjuring forth a vast army of
undead. His success is temporary, as his black magic brings undeath to King
Raenech, who unites the dead legions under his command and proceeds to lay
siege to Battlewaite.
1530Daen Wyld announces his claim to the throne
of Mhoried in a move that stuns the other major noble houses – Kavarra, Haensen
and Maricoere. Daen claims to be Daeric Mhor’s eldest and legitimate son.
1530Baron
Roesone fights his way through the Swordhawks forces in Kiergard, and across
the mountain passes of Mur-Kilad, and to the safety of Duke Osoer’s camp.
1530Grand-Maester
Isilviere of the KoH leads his forces on an epic journey through the Crown –
picking up isolated Anuriean units on the way – via the Giantdowns and into
Dhoesone.
1530Most
of the armies of the Crusade return home. The KoH contingent is stuck in
Dhoesone. Osoerde continues to garrison Markazor.
1530Bandits,
outlaws and monsters now lay claim to five provinces in northern Tuornen,
Alamie and Mhoried.
1530The Conclave of 1530 HC is held in the City of Anuire at the same time as the Sword and
Crown. Two “reunified” temples emerge – The Imperial Temple of Haelyn, led by
the IHH, and the Temple
of Anuire, led by the
WIT. The Conclave ends in chaos, as the two would-be-Pontiffs slay each other
in a duel, and their souls are stolen by a sinister mage that flee the scene.
1530Queen Marlae Roesone Raenech of Ghoere weds Duke William Osoerde of
Osoerde, cementing the Dhalaene/Osoerde axis as the center of the Kingdom.
1530Count Tristan Bellamie weds Lord Marar’s only daughter, securing an
alliance with Duke Osoer’s most powerful vassal.
1530The
Midsummer Night of 1530 HC – know as Healyn’s Festival or the Night of Fire in
Anuire – marks the height of the Long Summer, with pleasant weather and
abundant crops. From now on the summers will grow shorter and winters colder,
until the cycle reverses again on the Winter Solstice of 1547 HC. But for now
the people of Anuire look forward to another 10 bountiful years.
1530Following
the death of Cardinal Briesen, the young and unknown priest Gielbert Aurlien
becomes the regent of the OIT through the Land’s Choice. Denduval Kharnmoin
becomes the Prelate of the WIT – he is widely regarded as a political animal
and a loyal supporter of Prince Darien, Archduke of Avanil.
1530The
“bandits” plaguing northern Mhoried turn out to have nothing in common with the
raiders in Alamie/Tuornen; they turn out to be veteran mercenaries staging out
of Cariele.
1530An
expedition sent by the Brosen Royal Guild departs Anuire, intent on sailing around Aduria. Ancient Masetian
manuscripts indicate that this is possible. Very few people expect to see any
of the eleven ships again. It later turns out that this was an elaborate
deception – the ships were sent to invade the Western Isles instead.
1530Aubrae
Avan and Narvelon Diem are married. They are invested as Duke and Duchess of
Taeghas.
1530Carvaloen
Diem is named Baron of Shaeme, and he is reaffirmed as the Heir to Diemed.
1530The
city of Soerelies
in northern Alamie falls to the marauders. It is sacked and burnt. All its
inhabitants are either killed or enslaved.
1530Maester
Shaemas Brehm of the
SASI is lost at sea. Orthien Tane, long though dead, returns to claim his right
to rule.
1530Grand-maester
Kaeylon Isilviere of
the KoH is lost along with all his men, trying to reclaim the city of Sorelies. Undead are now
a common sight in northern Alamie; those that are able flee far and away.
1530The
crusaders returning home by way of Dhoesone are massacred as they cross through
Cariele.
1530Several
important temple heads go missing.
1530For
the first time in centuries a dragon is seen in Anuire – it lairs somewhere in
the swamps between Elinie and Coernays.
1531The
Western Isles are reclaimed by Brandon Boer’s forces. There are many wild
rumors regarding the events – bards make a pretty penny elaborating it in a
hundred different ways.
1531Count
Rogr Aglondier of Ilien swears vassalage to Queen Raenech.
1531The
temple heads return. There is never any explanation about what they have been
doing; a holy quest most likely.
1531The
PCE, once a great guild in the south, has fallen on hard times since El-Hadid
returned to the East to reclaim his birthright. Now he has sent a half-Khinasi
woman named Geraldin el-Mesir to manage his affairs.
1531The
restless dead now hold the northern
provinces of Alamie and Tuornen. No one can or dare
try to do anything about them.
1531The
Chimaera, said to have been killed by the TBM years ago, is said to have
returned to the Chimaeron. Another awnshegh, the Binman, is also seen in the
area.
1531The
dragon of the swamps starts raiding into Coeranys, but leaves the people of
Elinie alone. William Deaulen seems powerless to prevent the beast from
ravaging is lands.
1531Elinie
is released from vassalage to Ghoere, and instead enters into an alliance with
said kingdom.
1531Mhoried
is invaded by a massive force from the north. The “bandits” have revealed their
true intent – the conquest of Mhoried. Maricoere’s lands are untouched, but
Baron Haensen looses both land and troops. Shieldhaven is besieged. Lord
Kavarra holds out.
1531Summer
court session in Moriel ends in chaos; fell magic causes great riots and
several explosions in Moriel. The EO is later blamed.
1531Roesone
refuses to honor its obligations to its liege, the Kingdom of Ghoere.
It enters into a military alliance with Diemed and Aerenwe. War looms on the
horizion.
1531Diemed
sends more troops to Alamie to prevent the dead from seizing additional
provinces. Duke Alam recovers from his insanity.
1531War
breaks out between Diemed and allies and Ghoere/Osoerde and vassals/allies.
Aerenwan troops seize Dhoenel and move into Bellam. Someone tries to
assassinate Count Bellamie, but he survives. He blames Queen Swordwraith.
Troops from Ilien seize several provinces in southern Roesone. There are many
other battlesas well.
1531The
Lich – returned once more from the dead – is defeated again, but a coalition of
temples, High Mage Aelies, the Wardens and Count Aglondier.
1531Daen
Wyld is revelaed as the leader of the invaders of Mhoried. He seizes
Shieldhaven and the throne; many important nobles are captured and imprisoned.
1531Avanil
and Boeruine engage in a major conflict over northern Taeghas. Fighting lasts
for months, until the Avanese are finally forced to retreat back to southern
Taeghas.
1531War
engulfs the SouthCoast and the Heartlands
as two major powers and their allies clash. Provinces shift back and forth, and
raiding armies range deep behind enemy lines. There is no clear winner –
Archduke Osoer might have won more victories, but Diemed’s numbers are starting
to take their toll. Ilien is under siege, and enemy armies maneuver across
Roesone’s lands, trying to get an advantage.
1531Soldiers
from Diemed and the KoH manage to keep the undead from spreading; but this
could easily change come winter.
1531Daen
Wyld continues his campaign in Mhoried. Only Lord Kavarra and Lady Maricoere
hold out, but they are able to inflict several defeats on Wyld’s seeming
“invincible” army.
1531There
is serious confict between Archduke Osoer and the IHH and ETN. The IHH
excommunicates the Archduke, and he in return takes extreme measures against
said temples.
1531Autumn
palace coup in Elinie, removing Rashan ibn Daouta from the throne. Adaliz bint
Daouta is the new Matriarch of Elinie. Elinie continues to support Lord Osoer.
1531Coeranys,
while still technically a vassal of Ghoere, fails to send more troops to the
war. Dieman troops later land in Coeranys and Lord Deaulen openly defies the
Archduke.
1531Special
winter Sword & Crown; a peace settlement is reached between Diemed and
Osoerde. It stipulates that Queen Raenech must abdicate. Bhalaene passes to
Osoerde, while the last two provinces of Dhalaene are handed to Roesone. Bellam
becomes part of Osoerde, but Bellamie must relinquish Dhaoenel to Queen
Swordwraith. Ilien becomes a vassal of Diemed. Coeranys becomes a vassal of
Osoerde, but is later released. Roesone and Aerenwe are freed of any obligation
to Ghoere – since it technically no longer exists.
1531Autumn
palace coup in Elinie, removing Rashan ibn Daouta from the throne. Adaliz bint
Daouta is the new Matriarch of Elinie.
1531A
new Grand Conclave is called, drawing upon hose already present for the
S&C. The Conclave of Temples is the result – Gielbert Aurlien is the first
Pontiff. The Conclave pronounces that the Lost are about, trying to bring about
the return of Azrai and the end of the world.
1531Meganno
of the TBM finally rids the world of the Binman and the Chimaera. His precious
apprentice Rowena is killed in the process.
1531Daen
Wyld is finally defeated in a major battle, where several temples – the HA,
KoH, IHH, ETN and MOC – participate. Wyld flees Mhoried; Regien later claims he
rest under the trees…
1532Gnoll invasion
of Mieres shatters Serien’s defenses and occupies most of the land; Seiren and
Seaward hold out but are besieged. A force of Conclave and Dieman troops under
Baron Kaven Enlien are able to defeat the invaders at great coast and relieve
both cites.
1532The Red Wind
easily defeats the valiant defenders of the Valley of Mist.
The gnoll attack was but a feint, to draw the defenders away from the true
prize. The heralded Apocalypse does not, however, come to pass – it seems the
Conclave was wrong after all. The Red Wind departs Mieres for parts unknown.
1531Troops from
Diemed and the Conclave also turn back the undead and the foul black magic that
has been corrupting Alamie and Tuornen. They then start marching towards the FivePeaks;
here they are attack by fiends from the Netherworld. They are saved from
completed annihilation by the arrival of dead King Raenech and his undead
legions.
1532A small group of
holy men under Pontiff Aurlien penetrate the Eyeless One’s sanctuary and defeat
him, ending the threat of the heralded Apocalypse.
1532Several regents have
disappeared of the face of Cerilia – Duke Diem chief among them, but others
like Meganno of the TBM are also gone.
1532Lord Marar dies.
Regency over South Hold passes to Count Tristan Bellamie, to hold until such a
time as his heir comes of age.
1532Carvaloen Diem
becomes the Duke of Diemed.
1532A semblance of
order is restored in Mhoried, and the Council gathers once more to jointly rule
the realm until a Mhor can be found.
1532Rashid ibn
Daouta returns to reclaim his throne, backed by House Khaiarén and the PETG.
Adaliz bint Daouta enjoys the support of several nobles and the LPA. Gerad ibn
Daouta returns with the army of Elinie and demands to be heard; he has the
backing of Osoerde.
1532The famines and
unnatural weather that plagued Anuire during 1530 and 1531 are back with a
vengeance, followed by a vicious plague that sweeps the land. It leaves already
exhausted realms gasping, and puts an end to all fighting – for now.
1533Moergan Draco
swears vassalage to Archduke Brandon Boer, and the Barony of Draco is founded
in the FivePeaks – comprising the provinces of
Helmshaven, Torain, and Thasbyrn. This brings the archduke into conflict with
the Conclave, who has banned any Anuiean ruler for establishing regency in the FivePeaks.
1533Carilon Alam,
Duke of Alamie, follows up the creation of Draco with a claim of his own – the
provinces of Evenilen and Sufhaine rightly belong to Alamie. This further
antagonizes the Conclave.
1533Pontiff Gielbert
Aurilien dispatches a force of KoH templars to the FivePeaks.
They establish themselves in the ruins of Sorentier, in Sorelies province. They
claim to be protecting Anuire, but everyone knows they are here to enforce the
will of the Conclave in the FivePeaks matter.
1533Tuornen regains
a semblance of independence from Avanil, save the Barony of Tuor’s Hold, which
remain firmly in Avan’s camp.
1533Pontiff Gielbert
Aurilien gets into a heated conflict with the ETN – and by extension the IHH.
He accuses High Priestess Maire of consorting with demons (and other things,
but they pale in comparison). A limited holy war breaks out, threatening to
tear the Conclave apart. There is much unrest within the OIT.
1533The Council of
Mhoried elects Droene Kavarra to lead them; he is invested as the Mhor of
Mhoired by the HA shortly thereafter. Regien is absent from the ceremony and
refuses to hand over the Crown of Mhoried (which the HA is certain is in his
possession).
1534Tuornen regains
a semblance of independence from Avanil, save the Barony of Tuor’s Hold, which
remain firmly in Avan’s camp.
1534Gielbert Aurlien
abdicates. Narvelon Diem-Avan is the new ruler; he leaves Taeghas to his wife
Aubrae.
1534Archduke Carilon
Alam weds former Grand-Maester of the KoH, Anasatiae Daulton.
1534Archduke Brandon
Boer launches a massive attack on Taeghas. Within a month of his attack he has
routed every Avanese field army encountered and laid siege all important castes
and cities.
1534Prince Darien of
Avanil raises another army, marches it north, and seizes control over Tuornen
once more, before crossing the SeamistMountains. He advances as
far as the city of Ravar
before his lengthening supply lines force him to halt and besiege the city.
1534Brandon Boer
does not return to Boeruine, but instead presses his attack. Leaving
second-line troops to continue important sieges he rushes into Brosengae,
capturing several key provinces by the end of the campaign season, forcing the
surrender of said realm.
1534Avan’s campaign
in Boeruine turn into a nightmare – the Prince returns to his capital to raise
yet another army to oppose Brandon
in the south, leaving Lord Daulton to command – as lack of supplies and poor
weather cause much hardship for the troops. Eventually it turns into a
disorganized rout. Upon reaching Tuornen they find a vengeful Duchess waiting
for them…only a few hundred reach Avanil.
1534Carvaloen Diem
agrees to come to Avan’s aid. Come next year’s campaign season, he pledges to
send no less than twenty thousand swords to fight Brandon Boer…
1534High Prefect
Royce is seized by Osoer’s men and thrown in prison; he is executed shortly
thereafter.
